An interview with Tom McCarthy was broadcast on BBC Radio 4’s The Film Programme on 26 March 2010: “Writer Tom McCarthy discusses Alfred Hitchcock’s preoccupation with doubles, particularly the director’s own portly image often seen as cameos in his movies,” we are told on the website. Talking about the script he wrote for Johan Grimonprez’s Double Take, Tom claims that “The double is a kind of direct threat to identity”. He also describes Weapons of Mass Destruction as “a good example of a MacGuffin”.
