News of the British premiere of Johan Grimonprez’s Double Take written by Tom McCarthy:

Praised in the international press as ‘a pathological discourse which would make Hitchcock himself feel dizzy!’ Acclaimed by Variety as ‘wildly entertaining’, and by The New York Times as ‘the most intellectually agile of this year’s crop of films!’ After Berlin, Paris, New York, Moscow, Abu Dhabi and Tokyo, DOUBLE TAKE now premieres in Britain at the BFI London Film Festival:

DOUBLE TAKE casts Alfred Hitchcock as a paranoid history professor, unwittingly caught up in a double take on the Cold War period. The master says all the wrong things at all the wrong times while politicians on both sides desperately clammer to say the right things, live on TV. In a tale of odd couples and double deals, DOUBLE TAKE targets the global political rise of ‘fear as a commodity’ in our catastrophe culture, from moving images’ inception to the present day. Award-winning novelist Tom McCarthy (Remainder, Tintin and the Secret of Literature) writes the plot for this film.
